Rooted Movement

I love what can be done with fast moving water and a slow shutter speed. It makes it even better when you have something stationary to compare it to. These are two of my favorite from the Yosemite trip. These were taken along the creek below Mirror Lake.

Yeah, I know I'm your wife and everything, but I can leave a comment too, right? (even though you're sitting across the room from me right now) These are two of my favorites also. Just love that effect on the water.

Very nice. Did you do this using a neutral density filter?

I've been doing a lot of reading on using those to create motion and a richer look.

captain, you certainly could use a neutral density filter to get this effect. The water was moving fast enough here that I just handheld it with a shutter speed of 1/15th. By the way, really enjoyed all your shots of Vegas!
