This is my first attempt at taking "studio" type pictures of the kids. I generally dislike the flat, even lighting that most portrait studios produce so I tried to do something with a bit more texture. So much to learn, but so much fun.

You seem to have the same problem I do...lighting. The current issue of Popular Photography (March) has an article about studio lighting. I bought one of those collapsable reflectors, they are pretty cheap. I haven't used it much yet, but I'll be doing some more portraits of the kids soon. You will need a helper to use them. The seem to help get rid of the dark shadows under the face.
