Seeing red

I went for a walk around my neighborhood the other evening (gotta love those L.A. winters) and I decided to give myself a little assignment. I would only shoot things that were red or had red in them. It's amazing what such a simple constraint can do to get your mind working and your eyes seeing. Three guesses what the first image is.

I really like the bumper. The mailbox seems a bit snap shotty (look ma! A new word!). Is the top one a fire hydrant?

I'm gonna try your assignment idea. That sounds like a great way to get the mind going.

Your winters look tough ;-)

I just had an idea! We could challenge each other to an assignment and do a comparitive post on each other...just an idea.

The first pic is a mid-1950 Ford. Maybe a 1954.. This was a cheaper model as the more expensive models had glass backup lights / lens in the triangle section above the taillight.
