I saw that things were shaping up for a color 'splosion this evening so I hopped in my ride and drove to one of my favorite spots. I guess the color didn't really 'splode, but it was pretty fantastic anyway. If you want to see it bigger (and trust me, you do) click here.
This is beautiful - the clouds are like a painting. And I love the crop.
Catching the explosions is harder than one might think. Saturday night - HUGE explosion and I wasn't armed for it. Sunday night we went to the beach, expecting a repeat, and it fizzled at the last moment. Last night? Awesome again. And again I was unarmed. sigh. I need to learn to keep a camera in the car.
Thanks for the feedback all! Skeller I totally know what you mean. I carry my little G9 with me almost everywhere now. PG this is about 10 shots stitched together and the settings were 24mm, f/5.6, 1/60, iso 320.
